Section 6 How You Can Earn $100 An Hour or More Analyzing Handwriting In Your Spare Time (An Insider's Peek at Bart Baggett's Marketing Secrets)
Section 6: How and where to get hired fast ... with no previous experience!
Take a guess at how many people have asked to see my Degree from Pepperdine or requested a copy of my Handwriting Expert Certificate ... combined the answer is zero. The Big Goose Egg. Nobody cares if you have a fancy certificate on the wall ... they just want to know you are good at what you do and most importantly ... they have to like you and trust you.
Obviously, if you have no training and can't perform the job, you'll be found out soon enough as a fraud, and you will quickly be out of business. In fact, I don't allow people to enroll into the Marketing Home Study Course without a Certificate from some school ... I don't want shucksters using my marketing techniques. So, you do need training ... but a fancy certificate will no more guarantee success than a lucky rabbit's foot! Most people have a fear of starting a new business because they have a false belief that they must be experienced before someone will give them a chance. They believe it is like the vicious circle in the movie business. You can't get a role in the movies unless you already have had a job in the movies! How do you get on the Merry-Go-Round?
Good News! The handwriting business is not policed like the Hollywood acting community. You don't need a union card to get a job and you don't need to know someone. You need to get started.
Once you feel you are qualified to analyze handwriting, you can hang out your shingle and start making money. There are no rules, and no one will tax you every year with dues or royalties. I'm not saying experience and credibility will not help bring in business ... it will. But, you can get started without years of experience. So, no matter where you get (or got) your training, if you're good ... you can make it in this business! What you need to master is the fine art of marketing yourself. That is what stops most people in all businesses ... especially the handwriting business!
I have personally appeared as a guest on over 400 radio/TV shows. That creates tremendous credibility and opens many media doors that will never be open to most handwriting analysts. But remember ... there was a time when I had never been on ONE radio or TV show. Then, I had only been on 10, then 50, etc. I can show you how to break into the big time, if that is your ambition. There are literally dozens of areas of handwriting that you can specialize in ... all which could take a Special Report of its own to teach you in full detail. Some of those are a "highly paid respected double breasted suit sort of assignment," some are "behind closed door double murder trial sworn to secrecy sort of assignment," and some are high profile "give me your autograph" television superstar assignments. Choose your assignment.
But before you get stars in your eyes, let's take a look at what you can do today to line your pockets with cold hard cash. I would suggest that you start small and systematically aim for the big time! I have identified a number of different categories of moneymaking opportunities using handwriting analysis. First, I will list them ... then I will go into detail on two.
Some applications you might specialize in:
Jury Screening
Employment Screening
Questioned Document Examiner
Compatibility / Marriage Profiles
Psychological Profiles for Counselors or Psychiatrists
Grapho-Therapy for personal improvement
Entertainment: parties, fairs, trade shows, happy hours, or demonstrations
Self-Analysis
Some hats you might wear:
Author - write books
Teacher - teach classes, seminars, or entire courses
Writer - submit articles to newspapers and magazines nationwide
Media Guest- appear on radio or TV shows discussing handwriting
Speaker - Professional speaker for corporations (training or motivation)
Some Marketing Methods You Might use:
Free publicity using the media (print, radio, or TV).
Using cheap advertising to get new customers calling you.
The secret of using your answering machine and the mailbox for magnetic marketing.
Using computer software to do quick accurate written analysis.
Books, products, and information to double your income.
Your 24-hour new customer finder ... your fax machine and the Internet!
I am going to spend a few pages of ink (electronic pixels) explaining two of the above methods that you can begin using today, without any special experience (of course, provided you know how to analyze handwriting). The other methods I can teach you in complete detail. However, teaching many of these marketing techniques (like getting free publicity) takes a lot more time and explanation that I can adequately cover in this report. So, let's focus on two fun ways you can make some money today:
1) Entertainment - Live Analysis
2) Written Analysis (from Classified Advertising or the Internet)
ooooooooooooo1) Entertainment - Live Analysis
The first area of business I encourage newly certified students to explore is the "entertainment"section. You can easily charge $60-$125 per hour to analyze handwriting at a private party, private club, or convention. If the sponsor of the party isn't willing to pay you, you can charge each person $5-$10 per analysis and still make about the same hourly wage. Some popular places to do "live quickie analysis" are:
Birthday Parties
Corporate Christmas Parties
Happy Hour at any local bar or restaurant
New Age / Psychic Fairs
The State Fair
Barmitzvahs
I know some of you reading this are insulted by the mere suggestion that you use your hard earned and respected science as a side show entertainment. There are even a few of you that would rather die than be grouped in the same category as psychics and tarot card readers. I would like you to suspend your ego and arrogance for a minute and look at the whole business from a marketing perspective. If that is impossible, skip this section and read on at the other marketing ideas contained here.
The sad truth is ... Joe Q. Public doesn't know your skills are any different from the tarot card reader or the local psychologist. In fact, more people have been to a tarot card reader than a shrink! Your prospect might just have a passing curiosity in handwriting because he heard some guy on the radio last week. You are doing the entire industry a favor by establishing in Joe the belief that handwriting analysis is accurate and useful. I fully understand that if someone pays $10 for a handwriting analysis, that person is less likely to see the value of paying you $250 for another analysis. I agree. But the truth is, it is your presentation and follow-up that makes the difference. (I'll introduce you later to a woman who rakes in over $70,000 a year in part because of her insistence on offering new customers a quick $10 analysis ... she successfully turns many of them into high-priced life time customers).
If you still don't want to do $10 analysis, think about it this way ... was that $10 analysis guy walking by your booth at the fair ever really a prospect for your $150 corporate analysis? There are over 200 million people in this country ... how many do you need to become customers to make you rich?
How many $10 quickie analyses per hour will it take to exceed your current income? Hint ... if you make less than $20 per hour now ... the answer is about 2!
Getting the customer the first time is the most difficult. You can attract more people to get their handwriting analysis done in a busy place and at a low price (say ... $10) than you can sitting in your office waiting for the phone to ring and charging $100. My point is ... why not do both? The more people you expose yourself to means more "quality"customers will be there to pay your higher fees. The next step is to convert the $10 analysis into higher paying customers through Special Reports, newsletter, and seminars.
"You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it come true. You may have to work for it however." - Richard Bach, Illusions
If you refuse to do analysis at a party on Thursday or Friday evening ... what else are you doing to make yourself $100 an hour? If you follow my marketing system, you can do your $125 comprehensive written analysis in the morning, give a speech at noon, and analyze handwriting in public in the evening. At some time in the future when you are making so much money at whichever one is your favorite ... stop the others and focus on just one method. That is where I am today! I make so much money from my favorite area ... speaking and training, I have curtailed my "live analysis" and even pass along dozens of jobs each week to my students. I still do lots of analysis, but mostly for the media or corporate clients. My dear 81-year-old friend Phyllis Mattingly does it all. She spends about two hours a day on written analysis, two hours a day on document examining, and a few hours a week lecturing. She loves all areas of this business and still has the energy to do them all! You will find your favorite niche, too.
I don't have time to go into detail in this report on how you turn the $5 party analysis into the $100 comprehensive analysis, but the first step is to get the customer's name and address. I go into complete detail in my Handwriting Analysis Marketing Home Study System. You would be surprised at how few businesses capture the names and addresses of their customers. (In fact, if you are reading this Special Report, it is likely I have your name and address on file ... it's just smart business). In fact, I have a list of every person that I have analyzed or even spoken to over the past 5 years. Do you think they are a prime candidate to come to a seminar ... or buy an analysis for a gift? Absolutely ... they're the best prospect because they already know me and like me (at least I think they like me. Ha! Ha!).
ooooooooooooooooo
Points to Remember:
Doing entertainment analysis builds your customer base
Always capture the name and address of everyone you analyze
Follow up and sell them more services

Before I explain three marketing techniques that you can start using today, I'd like to show you an example of how I have gotten over $500,000 in advertising ... for free. Half a million dollars is a conservative estimate when you ad up all the articles in the newspapers, magazines, and the hundreds of hours I've spent on radio interviews or TV shows talking about my services. If you know how to "position" yourself correctly and "pitch" the media ... you can cash in on the lucrative world of "publicity." Although paying for advertising is often an effective way to find new clients (I'll show you an example in a moment), if you don't like spending money unless you are guaranteed a result, you might decide now to master the art of free publicity. For me, spending $300 per minute of advertising on radio simply wasn't an option when I got started. Five thousand dollars for a full-page ad was out of my budget. But, I could afford a phone call and a fax. With a little training, you too can achieve some similar "publicity successes."
"In order to successfully serve people you have to psychologically get underneath them, which means that while you are serving them you have to subjugate your ego to their needs." - Stuart Wilde, The Trick To Money Is Having Some!
2) Written Analysis
When I first started doing handwriting, I had no intention of making a career of it, at least not at first. After I made my first $100 doing handwriting at a party, I thought, "Hey, this could be really lucrative, but my ego stepped in and said, "Yeah, but I don't want to be viewed as just a party favor, I want to be a professional. I should go to college, learn all those important things, then get a real job."
So, I went to college. During my first year at Pepperdine, I began watching the job market and saw the kind of jobs my friends were offered when they graduated and decided the idea of a real job looked less and less appealing. I decide to look for another route. I thought I would test market this handwriting thing. Get the bugs out before I had to sink or swim in the real world when I graduated.
oooooooooooooo
Since I already had the skill to perform superb handwriting analysis, I had two questions ...
1. What form do I package the information in? A written analysis or verbal analysis?
2. How do I find customers that want to buy it?
Although I have answered those questions in a variety of ways at this point, back then I decided to create a 4-6 page written analysis and focus on marketing this product. This is the same product you can begin marketing today. A written analysis is perfect because you can do it in your own spare time out of your own home.

Now, I'll reveal 3 simple, yet powerful marketing techniques that will have customers calling you!
Classified Advertising: Getting money in your mailbox.
The Internet: Develop a worldwide clientele for pennies a day!
Giving Lectures: How to get paid for speaking around town!
Since TV or Radio Advertising seemed much too expensive and an arena amateurs should avoid, I started with something a little more affordable ... classified advertising. I researched all the various places where I might find readers who would be good candidates to buy a handwriting analysis. I settled on a magazine called Psychology Today. There are many other good places to advertise these days and many horrible choices. The trick to successful advertising is two fold: decide where to advertise and what to say in your advertisement. I've learned a lot about advertising in the past ten years, and I would approach many things a little differently now that I have more marketing experience. Nonetheless, what I did worked.
I placed the following ad in Psychology Today. It read :
Handwriting Analysis Experiment. Complete 6-page written analysis. Please send just $10 (administration cost) and a page of your handwriting to the Grapho-Analytics Institute of Handwriting Analysis, for a professional analysis. Your opinion of the results requested.
Well, it worked. However, I got so tired of endorsing and cashing ten dollar checks ... my hand hurt. Actually, the real reason I don't run that ad anymore is I got tired of sitting in front of the computer for ten hours a day doing analysis. I made a little money and did a lot of work. However, I made a major mistake ... I charged too little. Because of the overwhelming response, I was forced to write a computer program that contains the most common traits. This saved me hours worth of work.
How I created a $100 Comprehensive Written Analysis in under 30 minutes. Do the math ... that's a nice hourly income!
Using this program, Grapho 1.0, all I have to do is click one button and WHAMMO ... a paragraph appears describing the trait. I had each 6 page analyses down to about 30 minutes each, including licking the envelope. It was a good start. Remember, I was only charging $10 per analysis. I calculated I was only making about $20 bucks an hour, but is was good marketing experience. I got smart and started charging more. Today, I charge over $100 for the same written analysis. (I often spend up to fifteen extra minutes customizing the results for really tricky handwriting ... but it always takes less than 45 minutes).
By the way, as part of the How To Earn Over $100 Analyzing Handwriting Marketing System, you will own a licensed copy of my private never-before-published computer program, Grapho 1.0 and the new PC version Grapho-Web 2.0, and can do the same thing I did. I always support my students in making money. In fact, I've even written ten NEW CLASSIFIED ADS that will have people calling you and mailing you checks on a daily basis.
After the $10 analysis experiment, I placed a small ad in the local newspaper for a higher price. A psychologist called me to ask if I would do an analysis of a patient of his. And at that time I advertised $75 per analysis, and he gladly wrote me a check for $75. I did a complete written analysis using my Grapho program.
Now this was impressive to me, a real psychiatrist ... hiring me.
I mean these Doctors spend eight years in postgraduate education, and here I am just a young handwriting analyst. (I began to realize later that handwriting analysts often know more about a patient's problems with a sample of writing than the average psychologist knows after a month of therapy. My respect for many traditional psychological methods has diminished greatly. Don't get me started)!
The Doctor wrote me a letter. It said, "Bart, I want to thank you for the insights you gave me on this young lady whose handwriting I sent you. It provided me vast, in-depth understanding of how to deal with her. In fact your analysis provided the missing link to my understanding. She is very private, and it was very difficult to understand where she was coming from. Thanks to your handwriting analysis, our relationship is now stronger than ever. That was my girlfriend, and for the first time in two years I understand her. Sincerely, J~~~ Johnson, Ph.D."
I've omitted his first name for his privacy, but both he and I were impressed with my new skill. I was just 20 years old, I got paid $75 for half an hour's worth of work, and it was for a psychiatrist that needed some relationship counseling. That made me realize two things.. how powerful handwriting analysis is in helping people with their relationships and ... people will pay a high price for this knowledge. My mental gears started to turn. What next?
Doing comprehensive written analysis is perhaps the bread and butter service for most handwriting analysts. It has three major advantages compared to doing handwriting for entertainment.
You can do it from the privacy of your own home.
You can do it on your own schedule.
You can charge any price from $10 up to $250 each.
Also, the great thing about doing written analysis is much of your new business will come from people you've never met, from all over the world. They don't know your level of experience, education, or reputation. You can be a beginner or a veteran and still get business.
