Why over 6,000 companies use Handwriting Analysis to screen employees & how you can cash in on the action.

I recently saw a TV news story about the credibility of handwriting (I think it was NBC's Nightline). They said, "6,000 corporations in the US now screen all their employees with the help of a handwriting analyst." That is pretty amazing considering most of those professional analysts charge about $200 to $250 per written analysis. The Wall Street Journal stated that in the country of France, over 80% of the top 500 companies use handwriting analysis to screen prospective employees. I've been to France, met the analysts ... it is true. The reason corporations are using handwriting analysis is simple ... the cost of hiring the wrong employee is exponentially more than paying the extra money to have the candidate screened by a professional analyst. A recent article stated that it cost an average of $30,000 per employee fired when the companies added up all the legal fees, insurance benefits, and lost job production. When you think of it that way, $250 isn't a lot of money.

Now, I have charged that much, but usually I just charge by the hour. But, I'm kind of lazy, so I don't like to type when I can just talk. So people usually just mail me 3 or 4 samples, I get on the phone with them, and I charge them $100 or so. Anyway, it's pretty good money considering I could be working at a "real job."

Police Catch Criminals

Screening prospective employees is really only one of many ways you can make money with this. I've seen many different applications. A student called me recently and told me one of his very best friends, a detective, was trained by his police force to analyze handwriting. Only a very select few of the police force got to go to this intense six-week boot camp. What they were teaching was criminal patterns in handwriting. So when they got handwriting samples of suspects (suicide notes, ransom notes, and signatures), they could get inside their minds, because really, in criminal behavior, understanding a criminal's mind was the most important piece to predicting their next move.

Handwriting Analysis very often helps solve cases. The police department is one institution that has been using it for years. One of the most famous cases to publicly use handwriting analysis to solve the crime in recent years is the JonBenet Ramsey murder case in Colorado. This pretty, six-year-old beauty queen was found bound, gagged, and dead in the basement of the family's suburban home. Handwriting experts are being used to identify the author of the ransom note and even take a look at the psychological make-up of the prime suspects ... the parents. The handwriting is a key piece of evidence.

If you have never gotten to study deviant criminal behavior, you might enjoy the section on criminals in our Certification Home Study Course, which includes handwriting samples of murderers, thieves, and politicians for you to study and learn these same patterns. Perhaps you will be the "handwriting expert" that gets on the news on the next big case.

Customs and Intelligence Agents

Another story that interested me was the US Customs Service. One of my graduating students called me recently and told me she saw a story on TV. The reporter said "the customs agent in Miami, Florida that caught the most drug smugglers owed his entire success to the science of handwriting analysis." And she thought, wait a minute, how can handwriting analysis catch drug smugglers?

Well, when you enter this country, you have to "declare" whatever you have on your person. So this sly agent would just take the declaration slips and look at the handwriting. If the handwriting was that of an unethical scumbag, he would pull them aside and check their bags extra carefully.

Of course he used other clues that they're trained in: what they look like, or what they (you know) ... smell like, what origin they are, what kind of bags they're carrying, eye-movements, etc. Statistically, this man had the highest percentage of arrests of any agent - over 50% more successful than the #2 agent. And he said about his success rate, " I owe it all to handwriting analysis. I can tell instantly through their handwriting which ones are shady characters." So you can always have a job with the Customs Department if you choose to do so.

As you can see, handwriting is already being used worldwide. As you become more successful you will be invited to work on some more of these high profile cases. As you build your reputation, you might decide to totally focus on the corporate $250 per analysis market. As with any entrepreneurial business, it takes some persistence, but it is lucrative. In the Marketing Course, I'll walk you through how to get the corporate jobs and even get past the secretary!
